Life on Tour

Since 1996, J.L. and his wife, Dawn homeschooled their two children, Sherry and Cole.  They traveled as a family on the PGA TOUR to an average of 30 tour locations per year from 1996 till they went to college. Cole is currently caddying for J.L. and has caddied off and on for several years. Cole and Sherry have both graduated from college, and have fond memories of traveling the tour with their parents. J.L. and Dawn believe that golf is a team sport and the success they have achieved is largely due to the love and support of their close knit family unit.

"We try to create a comfortable environment on the tour each week so that we feel like we’re home when we’re traveling. We feel blessed to be able to see the most beautiful places and golf courses around the world, which is a big part of traveling the tour. Our children, Sherry and Cole, traveled with us on the PGA TOUR and were homeschooled for seven years. Homeschooling was a learning process for everybody. We worked together to find a balance between our learning styles, and we tried out several different curriculums before settling on one that we liked. We encourage and support other homeschoolers out there, and dedicate this portion of the website to giving tips that helped us during our time on the road." - Dawn Lewis
